We've got Cat!
Nov 05, 2024The cry went up last Tuesday at 6:40 am, as I made it to the barn (yawn!) and saw the trap had been sprung. Happy National Cat Day, Neo - let's snip those baby makers!
Neo went in that day for a neuter and ear tip, and along the way was tested for FELV/FIV (negative), and got shots for rabies and FELV/FVRCP good for a year. Maybe we can tame him down enough to get boosters next year, but I won't hold my breath.
He came home to our barn and rested for a while. Then he decided he’d had enough and released himself back into 'the wild'. We didn’t catch the actual escape on video, but he’s a shot of him sauntering off. Talk about a cool cat.
Nothing holds back a community cat from completing his rounds.
p.s. We haven’t seen him since at our barn. No surprise, if he ever comes back I’ll be amazed. Meanwhile, we’re putting out food in the evening and have returned the human trap to its owner. Huge thanks to our neighbor, who did the neuter at her workplace. Neo has visited her farm many times, as well as another neighbor to the east of our house. He is truly a community cat.
In other news, today is election day - VOTE if you haven't already. And it's the anniversary of my mom's birthday. If she were still here in the physical, she'd be 99. My dad would be 100 - crikey!
