Sad Ears
Mar 04, 2025
Our animal friends are very good about telling us what they want with body language, since that seems to be the way most people relate to their animals.
What is this guy saying?
The saddest dog in the Universe.
Is that pathetic, or what? I was leaving to go grocery shopping. The thing that makes Niko’s heart sing the most is riding in a vehicle, any vehicle. I was taking the car, and I’ve relaxed a little bit about bringing the dogs along in Natasha-the-Subaru, but not enough that I’ll bring them with me when groceries are involved. And dog food.
That’s a disaster just asking to happen.
So even though “daddee” was staying home from work (Niko’s favorite person), not being able to go for a ride was just…..so sad.
Our animals live pretty much in the moment, so even “we’ll go to the post office later” wasn’t enough to unsad the dog.
I was hard-hearted. That, and I thought about bags of groceries nosed into oblivion by a dog. No thank you.
When I got home, guess what? They were on a ride to the Post Office!
This is what it looked like:
The puppies aren’t shown, but they were smiling too.
Happy dogs! Happy daddee. Happy mommee, because all of the groceries (and a big bag of dog food) got home intact and put away without incident.
It’s so nice when everything works out for everybody. Even when the day started with sad ears.
