Wait. What?
What if you could keep that holiday feeling all year round? You know, peace on earth, goodwill toward all. Holding doors open for people. Smiling. A lot. Gift giving.
Gifts don’t have to be something you buy at store. It can be a smile, a helping hand. Listening when someone is in need. Giving back to your community.
We get all spun up in our lives. The Holidays are a whirlwind, and all the bright lights and colors are a constant reminder to BE NICE.
Life is GOOD, especially with ridiculous hats.
Why can’t we do this all year round? Do your dogs and cats turn off the “nice” just because it’s a new year and oh my, there are all these pressures - be more, do more, get ahead. It’s a new year, let’s pump the pedal and get going on making it the Best. Year. Ever.
I’m exhausted just writing this.
How about a little holiday cheer all year round? Give yourself a break. Life is lived in the moment, and no one knows that better than our animal friends.
If you need some inspiration, take a look at your gerbil or snake (or cat or dog or horse). They enjoy every moment, and they notice their surroundings.
I am posing because I am adorable, and maybe you’ll take a second to look at me.
That’s all it takes.
Be aware of your surroundings, not so much in a I’ve-got-to-make-sure-no-one-mugs-me way, but in a wow-look-at-that-sprig-of-grass-growing-right-out-of-the-concrete sort of way. Nature is astounding, and you can find it everywhere, if you’re willing to get out of your head and into your body and surroundings, just like our pets.

That’s what our animal friends do. They know how to stop and smell the roses. And maybe the pansies.
